Lefty is another that has her heart and there’s Ruthie and her amazing story. Heather says she could survive on Gummy Bears and Coke and be perfectly happy.

Heather wants you to know: I love to garden and just be outdoors. When weather is nice, our back deck is our favorite hangout. We love to grill out, have a bon-fire and chill with friends and family!

From Sonya’s heart: Heather’s priceless contribution to the rescue is her heart of prayer; she prays for the volunteers, fosters, and dogs. Heather has a beautiful hand-in-hand relationship with the Lord. I know a secret about Heather and it is that she and Chris are true lovebirds and his feathers are not ruffled by her running out of gas, backing into a tree, or side-swiping a building in her rescue vehicle! Deb Shapiro, Northeast Adoption Volunteer

Deb Shapiro, Northeast Adoption Volunteer

Deb has always had a love of animals since she was a very young child, ask her parents about the cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, worms, turtles, injured birds that ended up in their home while she was growing up. She has been fostering animals for over 20 years and for the past 10 + directly involved in animal rescue.

Deb loves to travel and has been to 46 states and over 20 countries. She has lived in Atlanta, Washington DC, and is now living back home in Boston, where she was born and raised. She works as an IT Project Management consultant and loves her job, but works to support her habit of rescuing animals.
She currently lives on the waterfront in Boston with her three dogs, two of who are Two by Two rescues, an 18-year-old cat and a fish named Freda.
From Sonya’s Heart: Deb is instrumental in expanding our territory of influence. The Northeast has so much to teach the South on humane care. It is with great excitement that Deb joins the team to help us move more animals from the South to the North where the overpopulation is not an issue. She certainly has a heart for the animals so now we will train her love sweet tea!
